Horseback Riding With Provo Ponies

One of the more unique activities on Providenciales is horseback riding on Long Bay Beach with Provo Ponies. This incredible riding stable began as an equine rescue operation for neglected horses and ponies in Turks and Caicos and has grown into a local horseback riding facility for residents and tourists. Provo Ponies now has 30 horses and ponies rescued and nursed back to health from Grand Turk, South Caicos, Dominican Republic, and the USA. Visitors to Providenciales have the opportunity to spend a day on a horse-back riding tour through the white sand and brilliant blue waters of Long Bay Beach!

Tours

Provo Ponies offers three unique riding tours: group rides, private rides, and special rides.

Group Rides are perfect for both the experienced or novice horse-back rider and are offered in 60 or 90 minutes. The tour goes through the south-side of Long Bay Beach giving riders the opportunity to ride their horse into the shallow warm waters. The maximum number of riders in the group tour is 12.

Private tours are a great option for honeymooners, couples, small groups, or advanced riders. This tour starts before the group tour with a private guide for 60 or 90 minutes. If it’s low tide, advanced riders may have an opportunity to trot or canter with their horse.

Special rides are offered for those that would like a romantic way to propose to their partner or capture photographs. The three different tours allow visitors a diverse set of options for enjoying a day horseback riding on one of the most beautiful beaches in Turks and Caicos.

Additional Information

Provo Ponies offers two different riding times Monday-Friday. The morning ride begins at 9:30am and the afternoon ride begins at 3:30pm in the summer months and 3:00pm in the winter months. Saturdays are reserved for the children’s lesson program but private rides can be arranged by special request. Provo Ponies is closed on Sundays. Visitors must book their riding tours in advance. Transportation can be arranged for guests staying in the Grace Bay Area, if you have rented a car and prefer to drive yourself, the facility is located at: 2 Dolphin Lane, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos about a 5 minute south-east drive from Villa del Mar.
