Buying Fresh Seafood on Providenciales
If you’re looking for fresh caught fish, check out the Provo Fish Plant in the Five Cays, South Dock area. They will fillet the fish and box it up for you. Snapper and grouper are often available and conch and lobster when in season. Just a note about buying directly from the boat: make sure the people you are dealing with are working fishermen and that the fish you’re looking at is fresh.
At the Graceway IGA you can sometimes find fresh fish available for purchase. To lighten your meal prep time, Graceway Gourmet features mouth-watering takeaway seafood dishes like steamed conch, salmon with citrus glaze or oven roasted mahi-mahi.
Local Vegetable Growers
You’ll want the freshest fruits and veggies to serve at mealtime, and there are a number of places you can go on the island. Graceway Gourmet offers a wide selection of fresh quality produce.
If you want ready picked fresh local produce, then head to the Hydroponic Farm situated off South Dock Road. Here you can pick items like tomatoes, lettuce or cucumbers right off the stem. There are also various herbs such as basil, thyme and mint grown here too. It’s an interesting place even just to visit to get a better understanding of how produce is grown and cultivated on Providenciales.
Island Foods and Specialty Items
You might want to pick up something that’s very local in flavour. Top O’ the Cove Delicatessen & Gourmet Take-Out on Leeward Highway at Suzi Turn Road offers an array of delicious food items including breakfast goods, specialty sandwiches, wraps, kebob rolls, and numerous sweets and other baked items. It is open from 6:30 am every day.
Another shop located at the Regent Village is Flavours of the Turks and Caicos (FOTTAC) which offers a taste of the islands with a variety of Bambarra Trouvadore Rum and products made with it such as rum cakes. The rum takes its name from Bambarra Beach where the slave ship Trouvadore wrecked in 1841. FOTTAC also sells an assortment of condiments such as rubs for meat and poultry, South Caicos sea salt, locally made Sakaja hot sauces, as well as sweet jellies and jams.

If you’re wanting to get that perfect bottle of the bubbly to complement your dinner dish, you’ll want to visit The Wine Cellar situated on Leeward Highway.
