Kiteboarding Lessons on Providenciales
Turks and Caicos Kiteboarding
Situated very close to the Shore Club Public Beach Access on Long Bay is Turks and Caicos Kiteboarding (TCK). It has been around since 2007 and offers innovative lessons to people of all ages. All instructors are certified with the International Kiteboard Organization which means they have logged hundreds of hours of teaching and training. Awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015, TCK has various options for beginner kiteboarders, and each class is a per person rate.
- You can do the “Mini Mudder”; you’ll get some fundamentals but you won’t have to get up fully on the board.
- The “Water Ready” session takes you beyond the basics and provides instruction on getting up on the board, how to body drag, controlling movement in the water, board retrieval and power strokes.
- Probably the most cost effective option is the “Kite Mudder” where you’ll begin on land learning the basics with a trainer kite followed by instruction on how to get up on a board and safely pull yourself through the water using an inflatable kite.
You can contact TCK at 649-442-2423 or email tckiteboarding@gmail.com
Kite Provo
Also based out of the Long Bay Beach area is the largest kiteboarding school on Providenciales – KiteProvo. This group has nine instructors, all certified and highly experienced. Kiteboarding instruction is offered at an hourly rate. You will receive basic instruction using a learner kite with the basics of safety, kite control, starting on the water, riding and staying upwind. They offer private lessons or sessions where you and a friend learn together.
- The “Fast Track” lessons provide a full day of learning within a group at a discounted rate.
- Once you learn the basics, you might want to try the jet ski assisted classes in which your instructor rides along with you giving you tips along the way.
- If you want to take a rest but still experience the rush of the ride, sign up for the “Tandem Ride” and let your instructor do the steering.

Kitesurf TCI
A smaller company, but certainly just as qualified and excellent at what they do is KiteSurf TCI. This group consists of a husband and wife team and one other instructor. They offer a method for adults and children to learn the skills necessary to get going in the water.
- The six hour one-on-one session involves two hours of technical and safety information, one hour with a learner kite in the water followed by two hours developing your skills in control, body dragging, managing the kite with one hand, as well as exercises on using the board, learning balance, standing and finally information on self rescue.
Safety is number one with Kite Surf, so there your instructor is in a power boat nearby at all times during lessons. Further information is available at 649-231-5483 or info@kitesurftci.com
