One of things at the top of your list of things to do on Providenciales should be swimming because the island offers sublime stretches of beach, some of which are private pieces of paradise.

Before You Take The Plunge
As you head out in search of our Turks and Caicos best swimming beaches, make sure you protect your skin from the sun. Apply liberally a broad spectrum, preferably water resistant sunscreen with at least a 30 SPF. Make sure to reapply every two hours.
To protect against the sun’s UV rays, wear a hat with a good 3” brim and UV-blocking sunglasses. If you plan to do a lot of swimming or snorkeling, wear a t-shirt in the water. The sun’s rays can easily travel through the clear Caicos waters. Seek out the shade and avoid the sun between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm when the rays are the strongest. Drink plenty of water so that you skin stays hydrated.
Venture To Blue Hills In Search of Solitude
Off the Millenium Highway near the Providenciales International Airport lies Blue Hills Road. Homes painted in bright hues capture the quintessential colors of Caribbean living and make for memorable sightseeing. The beaches at Blue Hills are beautiful. Although these beaches tend to have a bit more seaweed, they are quiet and offer welcome solitude from popular Grace Bay. Pack a picnic and enjoy the beauty of the calming shores, warm breezes and brightly colored buildings. Or head to Da Conch Shack for a selection for fresh, local cuisine with incomparable water views.
Spend The Day In Chalk Sound Area
Near the southern shores of Chalk Sound, about a 20 minute drive from Villa del Mar is historically significant Sapodilla Hill and Taylor Bay. Here away from the crowds and the bustle, you can lay out your beach mats, relax and paddle about in wonderfully warm calm waters. It’s very shallow for a long distance from shore so you can wade out for awhile even before the water reaches your waist. Bring an umbrella or wear a hat as there is little shade here, but you can easily cool off in the glorious water.
There isn’t an onsite concession, so remember to pack plenty to drink and some refreshing snacks. Or you can refresh at nearby Las Brisas, a very popular open air restaurant offering Mediterranean and local cuisine and stunning views over the glowing waters Chalk Sound.
The Beauty of Leeward Beach
Another hidden gem is Leeward Beach, about an 8 minute drive from Villa del Mar heading east along Grace Bay Road. With perfect white sand and far less traffic, it’s an ideal spot for swimming. It’s also a top spot to view the island’s glorious sunsets. While there are no public washrooms, there are facilities at nearby resorts and restaurants.
Popular Bight Beach
If you’re looking for a lovely swimming spot that also offers other amenities, then head for Bight Beach.
About a 7 minute drive from Villa del Mar, Bight Beach features a popular children’s park where there are covered picnic gazebos, washrooms and a large parking area. With soft white sand that stretches out for miles and calm clear waters, Bight Beach is an excellent choice for snorkeling, swimming and other fun water activities.
Whether you are keen to dive in and swim at length or just dip your toes for cool off, our Turks and Caicos best swimming beaches are just the starting point of the Providenciales paradise awaiting you.
