Floating Bars in Turks and Caicos: A Unique Experience at Sea

Captain Oak's Floating Tiki Bar

“Dance with the waves, move with the sea, let the rhythm of the water set your soul free.”Christy Ann Martine.

For travelers seeking something beyond the traditional beach bar, the Turks and Caicos Islands offer a rare and memorable alternative: floating bars. Anchored just off the coast of Providenciales, Captain Oak’s Floating Tiki Bar and Noah’s Ark Beach Club provide an exceptional way to enjoy the island’s crystal-clear waters, island cuisine, and relaxed atmosphere.

Captain Oak’s Floating Tiki Bar

Situated off Long Bay Beach, Captain Oak’s Floating Tiki Bar combines the charm of the sea with a lively and welcoming setting. Long Bay’s famously shallow waters stretch out hundreds of feet, but the bar is too far offshore to reach by swimming. Guests can arrive via jet ski, private boat, or by reserving a spot on the bar’s round-trip water taxi, which departs from the Heaving Down Rock area.

Captain Oak takes pride in serving delicious cuisine and creating a friendly, easygoing environment. The menu includes fresh grilled lobster (when in season), fish, kebabs, and hamburgers—all prepared onboard. A variety of cold beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are available throughout the day, and music plays as guests relax, dine, or swim in the designated safe swimming area nearby. Visitors are encouraged to try one of Captain Oak’s featured cocktails – the Sneaky Link, Incredible Oak, and the Toxic Tiki, each offering a unique blend of island flavors.

The bar also features comfortable seating, a small dance floor, and the kind of warm hospitality that has drawn both returning visitors and the occasional celebrity. For those interested in a midweek excursion, the All-Inclusive Wednesday Package includes lunch, five drinks, and round-trip transport for $150 per person plus tax.

Captain Oak’s is open daily from 12:00 PM until sunset.

Noah’s Ark Beach Club

Noah’s Ark is another floating bar destination located near Half Moon Bay. It is known for its open-air setting and beautiful panoramic views of the Caicos Banks and Princess Alexandra National Park. Though it sits farther from shore, reaching Noah’s Ark is simple, thanks to a daily ferry that departs near Blue Haven Marina. It is also a popular stop for boat charters and jet ski excursions.

The bar includes a large dance floor, shaded seating, and easy access to the surrounding water for swimming. Noah’s Ark also accommodates private event bookings, making it ideal for weddings, celebrations, or small gatherings.

Dining options at the bar include a mix of Caribbean and international dishes, with favorites such as fresh conch salad and jerk chicken grilled onsite. Guests can also enjoy a variety of drinks, from champagne to locally inspired-cocktails. Three of the bar’s signature beverages—Super Mario, El Patron, and Noah’s Cooler—are particularly popular for their unique flavors and presentation.

Noah’s Ark is open daily from 10:00 AM until sunset.
