Fruit and Veggie Smoothies on Provo
Healthy Drinks Keep You Feeling Hydrated and Refreshed in the Turks & Caicos Heat
It’s another beautiful day in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and you’re beginning to feel the heat. So you decide to cool off with a local drink known as a Waterfall. This cool green coloured concoction contains apples, cucumbers, parsley and celery, but it’s green in more ways than just its visual appeal.
Two cafes serve up ways to help you refresh and revitalize with delicious and fortifying fruit and veggie smoothies on Provo as well as taking care of the island environment.
Green Bean Island Bistro
Located at Turtle Cove Marina, about a twelve minute drive from Villa del Mar is Green Bean Cafe, a restaurant focused on fresh natural fare but also on delivering their products in ways that are beneficial to the environment.
Green Bean tries to maximize the use of recyclable, organic and compostable products. For instance if customers order take-away meals, all the packaging is compostable and recyclable.
You sit in comfy chairs on a lovely outdoor deck. Tall palms and lush plants abound creating a welcoming peaceful place for you enjoy a cool beverage or a full meal if you prefer.
“We stopped here after snorkeling at Smith’s Reef and tried their smoothies. We thought they were the best on the island.” said a reviewer on TripAdvisor.
“The pineapple smoothie hit the spot as did the shady patio and comfortable chairs.” said another reviewer.
Green Bean blends up a super selection of smoothies using fresh fruits. For coffee lovers, they offer iced coffees and teas that will refresh. Green Bean Cafe is open each day from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Telephone: 649.941.2233
Okeanos Juice & Smoothie Bar
About a five minute drive from Villa del Mar, Okeanos is a welcoming wellness center in the Regent Village shopping plaza offering up personal fitness training and healthy and nutritious beverages. Here you can quench your thirst and revitalize yourself with energizing nutrients.
“What I love about this little shop is that it creates its smoothies and juices from all-natural, healthy ingredients. The Kale smoothie is delicious!” raves a recent reviewer.
“Wish I had found them sooner! If you are in need of a quick healthy drink to fuel you up, this is the place!” said another TripAdvisor reviewer.
Okeanos serves up healthy juices and smoothies using fresh natural ingredients. There are numerous taste combinations to try like Tropical Passion made with mango, passion fruit, banana, and coconut water, or the Pink Flamingo which uses strawberries, banana, orange juice, honey and yogurt.
But the cafe is not only about putting something healthy into its customers’ hands, it’s also focused on the health of the environment. Okeanos sells a “customer cup”, a good sized beverage container with a re-sealable cap. Rather than buying an item and tossing away the container, customers can enjoy their drink and then re-use the container again on a future visit. It minimizes the plastic going into the landfill thus helping the environment.
If you’re feeling a little hungry, Okeanos also serves up a variety of homemade crepes and salads. A sandwich menu will be launched soon featuring a delicious Green Goddess option. The cafe is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Telephone: 649.431.6328
So if you’re visiting the islands, check out Green Bean or Okeanos where the refreshments help you feel good and give you the chance to do some good for the environment too.
