Beachfront Restaurant in Providenciales
Casual Dining on the Beach at Kalooki’s Beach Restaurant and Bar
Sometimes you might think you’re taking a gamble when you visit a new restaurant.
But choosing to visit Kalooki’s is always a good bet.
While the restaurant takes its name from a Jamaican card game, there’s nothing left to chance about the great food and service at Kalooki’s beachfront restaurant in Providenciales.
Located in Blue Hills on Providenciales, Kalooki’s Beach Bar and Restaurant is about a 15 minute drive from Villa del Mar. If you’re wanting that tropical island setting with a view of the Caribbean waters, Kalooki’s is a winning hand.
“What a perfect island feel,” said one reviewer on Trip Advisor, “The restaurant is basically a giant patio deck on the beach.”
Ambiance at Kalooki’s in the Blue Hills
Situated off Blue Hills Road, Kalooki’s features a restaurant building painted in the shades of the blue ocean waters surrounding it with an eye-catching palm frond roof. Inside is seating and a wraparound bar. Circling around the front and sides is an extensive wooden deck with outdoor tables and chairs and steps down to the beach below. Kalooki’s overlooks the gorgeous Turks and Caicos waters stretching out for miles.
The great cuisine at Kalooki’s is definitely its ace in the hole. Patrons talk about the cuisine with adjectives like “excellent”, “amazing” and “outstanding”. Its cuisine has garnered awards like “Best Island Grilled Chicken” at the 2014 Caribbean Food and Wine Festival as reported in the Turks and Caicos Weekly News.
Menu at Kalooki’s
The lunch and dinner menus at Kalooki’s feature a combination of Turks and Caicos and Jamaican flavours reflecting the heritage of the restaurant owners Tory and Mal Williams, who hail from Grand Turk and Jamaica. There are twists on old themes like the Spicy Shrimp which, while it’s accompanied by Caribbean jasmine rice and grits, includes an Asian habanero sauce. Even vegetarian diners can make an excellent draw from the menu deck. There’s a number of tasty options under “Veggie At My Table”.
No matter how you shuffle diner’s comments, there’s always a run of the same words: great friendly service. Visitors talk about being “cheerfully welcomed” by staff who are “incredibly attentive” or “friendly and helpful”.
But it’s hard to keep a poker face on Saturday nights when Kalooki’s adds live music to the ambience. Local musicians perform a variety of music, and there is limbo dancing on the beach. It’s like a beach barbecue where visitors feel like family.
Superb island food and fun; any way you shuffle this deck, you’ll have a great hand each time you visit at Kalooki’s.
