Visiting Bambarra Beach on Middle Caicos
Shallow Waters and Peaceful Beach in the Turks and Caicos
No vacation to the Turks and Caicos Islands is complete without some time on the beaches, and visiting Bambarra Beach on Middle Caicos is a highlight for most visitors. Located on Middle Caicos Island, Bambarra Beach is known for having very shallow water – so shallow in fact that you could walk to neighbouring Pelican Cay almost .8 of a kilometre away!

Alan Lawley, Director of Operations & Development at Villa del Mar, raves about Bambarra Beach. “It’s quiet and peaceful,” he says, “and the tiki huts, picnic tables and miles of beach surrounded by calm water makes this a really wonderful day trip.”
About Middle Caicos
Middle Caicos is an inhabited island, measuring about 48 sq. miles and consisting of a resident population of only 450 people. The main town is Conch Bar Village with smaller settlements at Bambarra Village and Lormers Village. There are many beaches, caves, trails and look out points on the morth side of this quiet island. In particular the vistas from Mudjin Harbour along 2 miles of winding cliffside are striking. Visitors looking for snorkeling excitement will most likely find it at Conch Bar Beach on calm days. Those seeking quiet beach time, placid waters and beachcombing will find it at Bambarra Beach. This site is also host to the Annual Valentine’s Day Cup model sailboat race.
Getting to Bambarra Beach
Getting to Middle Caicos is best by boat. There is a regular ferry service which runs from Heaving Down Rock Marina on Providenciales to North Caicos. However, you will have to drive from North Caicos to arrive at Middle Caicos. If you go, make a point of visiting the Conch Bar Cave system which spans 15 miles of caverns, and visit the countless flamingos at scenic Flamingo Pond.
